Mark Lilley
Senior Technologist / Director

Since Mark joined Riva Architects in 1997 as a Junior Technician, he has steadily progressed to Senior Technologist, Associate in 2015 and finally a much valued Director in 2024. Mark has developed and increased his knowledge over the years in the field of technical design. He is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists, regularly taking part in the Continued Professional Development initiatives offered by the Institute.
Mark prides himself on accuracy and technical detailing. He is able to adapt to both traditional and modern construction methods, and has an exceptional understanding of Building Control and its procedures, which is an invaluable asset for the whole practice. Clients enjoy working with him and he has a good rapport with local building contractors, who welcome his advice and guidance.
Mark also manages the office’s IT systems and his expertise in this matter helps keep the office running as efficiently as possible.
In his spare time, Mark enjoys walks along the coast and countryside. He is also keen on DIY, having built his own decking and external BBQ areas. He has also just created and installed a bespoke timber panelling feature to his home staircase.
Mark spent many years as a football coach at the St Clement Football Club, where he was head of the Minis section for over 10 years before withdrawing in 2020. Although he is still involved with helping with the tournaments which the club runs each year.
