GENERAL REFURBISHMENT AND EXTENSION OF LISTED PROPERTY

The aim we set ourselves was to retain and enhance the best of the old, while modernising this 19th Century cottage with respectful extensions, which were both complementary of the existing Victorian architecture and yet very much of their time. The mass and scale of the extensions were carefully co-ordinated with the existing / retained structures in such a manner that they appeared subservient. Glazed linking structures minimised the works to the Cottage, while also providing visual separation. Environmental and thermal insulation improvements were sensitively introduced to improve the general performance of the house, thus reducing heating bills. The result has been a much appreciated family home in a pleasant rural setting.
